Overview:
We are in search of a dedicated local truck operator who will return home daily. Our fleet consists of vehicles from 2015 or newer, and we provide excellent benefits, including tuition reimbursement and opportunities for training and professional growth.
Responsibilities:
- Review bills of lading to understand assignment specifics.
- Inspect loads to confirm cargo security and notify the warehouse if load adjustments are necessary for safety.
- Conduct inventory checks and assess goods to be transported for quantity and condition.
- Secure cargo for transport using blocks, chains, binders, or tarps.
- Adhere to safety protocols when handling oversized loads.
- Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following crew signals and ensuring proper alignment of vehicles and loading equipment.
- Operate devices such as truck cab computers, CB radios, phones, or GPS systems to communicate essential information with bases, supervisors, or fellow drivers.
- Couple or uncouple trailers by adjusting trailer jack positions, connecting or disconnecting air or electrical lines, or manipulating fifth-wheel locks.
- Check vehicles to confirm that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is functioning properly.
- Report any vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damages.
- Maintain logs of working hours or vehicle service and repair status, in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as adding oil, fuel, or radiator fluid, or executing minor repairs.
- Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods and collect payments for services when necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of Class A driving experience.
- No major moving violations in the past 2 years.
- 2 years of flatbed experience, with recent experience pulling 53' flatbeds and operating 3-axle conventional sleeper trucks; oversized load experience is preferred.
