Job Title: Recreation Advisor

Join Adams and Associates, Inc. as a Recreation Advisor, where you will play a vital role in providing students with a comprehensive and engaging recreation and evening/weekend program experience.

Job Summary

The Recreation Advisor will work closely with the Recreation/Evening/Weekend Programs team to develop and implement programs that promote health, wellness, and education. This role requires a strong ability to collaborate with Academic Instructors, supervise recreation programs, and ensure compliance with safety guidelines.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Academic Instructors to develop individual tutoring and evening/weekend studies and activity plans to meet student needs.
  • Assist with the supervision of a comprehensive and diverse recreation program.
  • Coordinate with off-Center partners to deliver academic and recreation services.
  • Ensure safe practices and program compliance within prescribed safety guidelines.
  • Document student participation and accountability during recreation and evening/weekend activities.
  • Maintain inventory of equipment and material and control their use.
  • Responsible for the overall appearance, condition, and organization of the recreation and evening/weekend department facilities.
  • May oversee student recreation/evening/weekend aide program.
  • Provide transportation as required.
  • Produce quality work/assignments in a thorough, timely, and accurate manner.
  • Maintain appropriate personal attendance, accountability, and work productivity standards.
  • Plan, prioritize, and organize assignments to meet established goals and deadlines.
  • Understand and apply job knowledge to effectively complete all required job responsibilities.
  • Proactively maintain the skills required to perform job duties.
  • Mentor, monitor, and model the Career Success Standards as required by the PRH.
  • Provide high-quality supervision and management for the student population and positively influence student behavior.
  • Provide timely operational support for Center operations to ensure quality programs and services.
  • Exchange ideas and information, both orally and in writing, in a clear and concise manner and contribute meaningfully to group efforts.
  • Effectively articulate thoughts and ideas.
  • Identify problems, analyze causes, and evaluate appropriate solutions prior to taking or recommending actions.
  • Follow up to ensure prompt/appropriate action is taken and that problems are in fact corrected.
  • Work in partnership with staff from all Departments to ensure effective supervision and services are provided to students.
  • Accept direction and supervision from the Center Director/Center Duty Officer/Shift Manager to include assignments to temporarily perform job responsibilities of other departments and positions.
Qualifications

Post-Secondary Degree Required. One-year related experience working with youth required. Must possess a valid in-State Drivers License and meet Company insurability requirements. CDL preferred. Physical requirements include sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling, and/or pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping, and crouching. Demonstrates the ability to lift 40 pounds and/or the ability to assess the lift load in order to ask for necessary assistance.
