Job Title: Speech and Language Pathologist

At The Leona Group, we are seeking a highly qualified Speech and Language Pathologist to join our team.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Speech and Language Pathologist to provide assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of communication disorders in students. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in speech-language pathology and experience working with students with special needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and identify students with communication disorders that adversely affect their educational progress.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address communication goals and objectives.
  • Provide direct and indirect services to students in their educational setting, including speech therapy sessions and consultation with teachers and other professionals.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and provide consultation services to teachers and other professionals.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and other professionals to ensure that students receive the services they need to succeed.
  • Stay current with best practices in speech-language pathology and participate in ongoing professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
  • A teaching certificate with an endorsement in speech pathology or a Certificate of Clinical Competency in speech pathology or a master's degree in speech-language pathology from an accredited program.
  • Knowledge of principles and techniques of speech-language therapy, including assessment and treatment of communication disorders.
  • Experience working with students with special needs and knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations regarding special education.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and other professionals.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least one year of experience working as a speech-language pathologist in a school setting.
  • Knowledge of augmentative and alternative communication systems and experience providing training in their use.
