Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacy Director to join our team at Rx relief. As a Pharmacy Director, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and effective use of medications in our healthcare setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Medication Management: Ensure that medications are used appropriately and safely, reviewing patient medication profiles for potential issues and taking steps to resolve them.
  • Collaboration with Healthcare Professionals: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to identify and resolve medication-related problems.
  • Order Entry Review: Review physician order entries for accuracy and appropriateness, and resolve any issues that arise.
  • Pharmacotherapy Planning: Develop and implement patient-specific pharmacotherapy plans to ensure optimal medication use.
  • Drug Consultations: Provide drug consultations to healthcare professionals and patients as needed.
  • Medication Usage Evaluation: Participate in the department's Medication Usage Evaluation program to identify areas for improvement.
  • Information Resource: Serve as a resource for patients and healthcare professionals on medications and medication therapy.
  • Documentation: Document interventions and other activities as required by law and departmental policies.
  • Medication Reconciliation: Assist with medication reconciliation to ensure accurate and safe medication use.
  • Research and Dispensing: Research drug information and perform dispensing responsibilities.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records as required.
  • Verification and Preparation: Verify the work of technicians and students prior to dispensing, and prepare and supervise the preparation of sterile compounding.
  • Knowledge and Compliance: Stay current with medications, medication therapy, state and federal regulations, and hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Teamwork and Continuing Education: Work collaboratively with the healthcare team and participate in continuing education programs to stay current with best practices.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or related field.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience in a pharmacy setting.
  • Licensure: Active and unencumbered Tennessee State Pharmacist License.
  • Setting: Acute care setting.
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
  • Pay: $70.00 per hour.
  • Background and Drug Requirements: Must be willing to undergo a background check and health and drug screen.
