Position Summary:

The Nurse Aide in Training program is designed to equip individuals with both online and hands-on training to become proficient Nurse Aides. Candidates who demonstrate excellent customer service, reliability, teamwork, and a strong work ethic may qualify for Education Assistance to achieve Certified Nurse Aide status. Depending on availability and individual learning preferences, Education Assistance is offered at NO COST through various avenues:
  1. Classes conducted on-site or at a Regency location.
  2. Programs available through local community colleges or technical schools.
  3. Internships with the option to bypass classes by passing a skills assessment and practice exam provided by the facility, allowing candidates to schedule for certification testing.
Role of a Nurse Aide and CNA in Skilled Nursing:

Nurse Aides and Certified Nursing Assistants operate under the supervision of Charge Nurses, assisting residents with daily living activities as outlined in personalized care plans. It is essential for Nurse Aides and CNAs to be compassionate, approachable, and dedicated to providing the personal care that residents expect.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure resident comfort and safety, including identifying and reporting potential hazards.
  • Perform duties in accordance with established resident care policies and procedures.
  • Assist with daily care tasks such as bathing, feeding, dressing, monitoring food intake, grooming, and transferring residents.
  • Document care provided in the Electronic Medical Records system.
  • Measure and record vital signs accurately.
  • Observe and communicate any changes in residents' conditions to nursing staff.
  • Maintain equipment and supplies in good condition.
  • Accompany ambulatory residents or assist those in wheelchairs as necessary.
  • Safely execute physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and moving residents, including weights over 50 pounds with or without accommodations.
  • Respond promptly to call lights, addressing resident needs or seeking assistance from Charge Nurses as required.
  • Provide exemplary customer service, maintaining professionalism in sensitive situations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:

Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED is highly preferred.
  • Prior experience in caregiving is advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills are essential.
