Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing a variety of ultrasound procedures to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate ultrasound equipment to perform general, vascular, and cardiac procedures, accurately differentiating between normal and pathologic findings.
  • Review patient medical records to obtain necessary clinical information, position patients, and select proper transducers and technical factors for accurate ultrasound procedures.
  • Use cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures as appropriate to anatomical, pathological, diagnostic information, and images.
  • Maintain accurate records, enter patient and study information into the radiology information system, and document billing codes of procedures performed.
  • Communicate findings to physicians, analyze sonograms, and synthesize sonographic information and medical history.
Requirements
  • Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with Abdomen issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Med Sonography (ARDMS) within 3 months.
  • Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with OB/GYN issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Med Sonography (ARDMS) within 3 months.
  • Vascular Technologist (RVT) registration issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) within 3 months.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.
Education and Experience
  • Advanced training beyond High School in Sonography.
  • No experience required.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, and twist throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist, carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance, and push/pull with 30 lbs. of force.
  • Clear speech, vision, and hearing.
