About the PositionWe are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at Carilion Clinic Orthopaedic Surgery - Riverside. As an Orthopedic Nurse Specialist, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care to achieve optimal outcomes for patients of all ages.
The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a fast-paced team environment. Strong clinical knowledge and problem-solving skills are essential for this role, which requires a collaborative approach to patient care.
About the TeamYou will be part of a multidisciplinary team that includes orthopaedic surgeons, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals. Together, we provide comprehensive care to patients with musculoskeletal disorders and injuries, focusing on evidence-based practices and innovative treatments.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and evaluate patient needs, developing individualized plans of care that address medical, emotional, and social requirements.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams, patients, and families to ensure seamless coordination of care.
- Administer medications and treatments accurately, utilizing electronic medical records and automated systems.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families, addressing questions and concerns related to treatment and recovery.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient interactions, progress, and outcomes.
