The Process Safety Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the effective implementation and maintenance of Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management Plan (RMP) programs in alignment with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage comprehensive Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA), and Facility Siting Studies to enhance safety for ongoing operations and projects.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to evaluate and manage changes through the Management of Change (MOC) process.
- Develop and refine written safety, health, and environmental (SHE) procedures, policies, and documentation to ensure clarity and compliance.
- Conduct thorough incident investigations to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Perform regular audits to verify adherence to internal protocols and industry benchmarks.
- Deliver essential safety and process safety training to plant personnel, fostering a culture of safety awareness and understanding.
- Oversee and manage relief device systems, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information is maintained.
- Stay informed on the latest industry best practices, regulations, and standards related to process safety to continuously improve safety measures.
- Provide valuable input on process safety requirements, incorporating recognized engineering practices and industry consensus standards to mitigate risks effectively.
- Conduct chemical dispersion modeling as necessary for PSM/RMP analysis.
- Engage in additional safety-related compliance tasks as directed by the SHE manager.
