Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to join our team at AmeriPro EMS. As an EMT, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in emergency and non-emergency situations, ensuring compliance with state EMS rules and regulations, and maintaining ambulance equipment and vehicles in proper working condition.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to emergency calls and provide patient care according to company policy and medical director protocols
  • Ensure ambulance and equipment are cleaned and checked daily, reporting any deficiencies to the shift supervisor or Director of Operations
  • Complete patient care reports, billing, exposure reports, incident reports, and daily, weekly, and monthly unit check-offs
  • Adhere to AmeriPro EMS policies, procedures, guidelines, directives, and standards, reporting any deficiencies to the shift supervisor or Director of Operations
  • Maintain a state of readiness and professionalism while on-duty, and a professional appearance and conduct while in company uniform
Requirements
  • EMT-B certification in good standing, current NREMT certification if applicable by state law
  • CPR: BLS certification
  • State-specific driver's license
  • Successful completion of a comprehensive background check and drug screening
  • Strong people skills and proven ability to collaborate within a team
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to comprehend and execute verbal and written instructions in English
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience working as an EMT or in a similar medical role
  • Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) and/or International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) training
  • FEMA IS certs: (IS:100; IS:200; IS:800; IS:900)
Physical Requirements

The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, stand, or balance. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 180 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 300 pounds with assistance from others.

Working Environment

The employee may be exposed to inclement weather, potential hazardous conditions, psychological stressors, diseases, and other illnesses. Frequent interruptions, work pressure, difficult personalities, and irregularities in work schedule are expected. The employee will be occasionally required to attend meetings, some of which may take place outside of regular working hours.
