Role Overview - Pediatric Anesthesiologist
As a Pediatric Anesthesiologist, you will play a vital role in the Anesthesia Department, ensuring the safety and comfort of young patients undergoing various medical procedures. Your expertise will be crucial in managing anesthesia care and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and coordinate activities within the Anesthesia Department.
- Provide comprehensive medical management for pediatric patients experiencing unconsciousness or insensibility to pain during surgical interventions.
- Conduct thorough pre-anesthesia evaluations to assess patient needs.
- Obtain and verify informed consent from patients and guardians.
- Discuss anesthetic options and potential risks with families.
- Administer anesthesia during procedures and monitor patients' physiological status throughout.
- Perform necessary clinical interventions as required.
- Deliver exceptional anesthesiology services and patient care before, during, and after operations.
- Monitor patients in various care settings, including surgical units and recovery areas.
- Review medical histories and laboratory results to inform treatment plans.
- Educate patients and families about anesthesia-related risks and procedures.
- Board Certified/Board Eligible by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA).
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Minimum of two years of recent clinical experience in pediatric anesthesia.
- M.D./D.O. Degree from an accredited medical institution.
- Completion of an approved Residency in Anesthesia and a fellowship in Pediatric Anesthesia.
- Valid medical license to practice in the state of Tennessee.
