Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Meat Department Team Lead to join our team at Whole Foods Market. As a key member of our meat department, you will be responsible for leading and developing a team of meat associates, ensuring exceptional customer service, and maintaining a high level of product knowledge.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership: Lead and develop a team of meat associates, providing guidance, coaching, and feedback to ensure excellent performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service, responding promptly to customer needs and questions, and ensuring a positive shopping experience.
  • Product Knowledge: Maintain a high level of product knowledge, including meat products, and be able to teach and train team members on product features and benefits.
  • Inventory Management: Assist with inventory management, including ordering and receiving, to ensure accurate inventory levels and minimize waste.
  • Store Standards: Maintain a clean and organized store environment, adhering to company standards and ensuring a safe working environment for team members.
Requirements
  • 18+ months retail team member experience and 6+ months of supervisory experience.
  • High energy, enthusiastic, and displays an affinity for our products, core values, and company philosophy.
  • Excellent interpersonal, motivational, team building, and customer relationship skills.
  • Capable of teaching others in a positive and constructive manner.
  • Thorough product knowledge and advanced knowledge of regulatory and safety policies and procedures.
  • Proficient mathematical skills for assessing financial performance, monitoring profitability, and managing inventory.
Working Conditions
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • In an 8-hour work day: standing/walking 6-8 hours.
  • Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.
  • Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting and reaching.
  • Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals.
  • Exposure to temperatures: 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Ability to work in a wet and cold environment.
  • Ability to handle knives and other cutting equipment.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
