About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Fertilizer Trader to join our team at Archer Daniels Midland Company. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for managing all UAN procurement, trading, risk management, and strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive UAN strategy for North America, ensuring optimal supply chain management and risk mitigation.
  • Partner with procurement, sales, logistics, and customer support to optimize the UAN product line, driving business growth and profitability.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with all UAN suppliers and eastern corn belt urea suppliers, fostering a collaborative and mutually beneficial partnership.
  • Identify and capitalize on trading opportunities to optimize the ADM Fertilizer supply chain, ensuring maximum efficiency and profitability.
  • Trade the Eastern corn belt urea, working closely with other urea traders to develop and execute a cohesive overall strategy.
  • Provide in-depth analysis and input into the further development and success of ADM, driving business growth and innovation.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business or agriculture, or equivalent experience, supplemented with a minimum of 2 to 5 years of trading experience in the Ag or energy sector.
  • Demonstrate capacity to manage a position, trade basis, evaluate and manage risk, perform fundamental and technical analysis.
  • Build relationships with both suppliers and customers, driving business growth and profitability.
  • Basic understanding of grain trading and fertilizer markets, production agriculture.
  • Commitment to being a positive and professional team leader, driving collaboration and innovation.
  • Ability to function effectively, both independently and in group efforts, with a proven track record of operating autonomously.
  • Resilient, entrepreneurial, self-motivated, and possessing problem-solving skills necessary to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, as well as the ability to interface with various levels of ADM.
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams, with a proven track record of operating autonomously.
  • Proficiency in using the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
