KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist culinary staff in various kitchen operations.
- Gather necessary ingredients and small equipment for meal preparation.
- Adhere to standard recipes while preparing assigned dishes.
- Operate food production and serving equipment following manufacturer guidelines.
- Implement safe and sanitary food handling practices consistently.
- Return used kitchen utensils and smallware to designated areas.
- Wash all kitchenware using the dishwasher or by hand, adhering to high sanitation standards.
- Manage waste disposal in kitchen areas, including emptying trash bins and cleaning them.
- Inspect waste for any reusable items such as silverware and dishes.
- Maintain cleanliness of stainless steel surfaces in the kitchen.
- Ensure cleanliness of receiving, trash, and other kitchen-related areas.
- Sweep and mop kitchen floors regularly.
- Clean the dishwashing area after each meal service.
- Assist in food preparation, storage, and cleaning of coolers and storerooms.
- Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and paper products.
- Transport supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
- Handle all china and glassware with care to prevent breakage.
- Regularly inspect kitchen floors to ensure cleanliness and safety.
- Participate in weekly kitchen cleaning and maintenance tasks.
- Store cleaning equipment properly after use.
- Support other duties as assigned by the Executive Chef or Sous Chef.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- One year of relevant kitchen experience preferred.
- Basic knife skills are necessary.
- Familiarity with health department regulations.
- Basic proficiency in English for communication and instruction comprehension.
- Professional demeanor and appearance.
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
