Position Overview: The Land Surveying Team Leader will operate both autonomously and collaboratively with crew members to execute field survey tasks associated with boundary delineations, ALTA/NSPS Land Title surveys, topographical assessments, photo control surveys, route evaluations, and construction stakeout under the oversight of a Registered Professional Surveyor.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the effective functioning of the field crew by adhering to established operational protocols and current health and safety regulations.
  • Utilize robotic total stations and GPS technology to meticulously gather relevant data and information.
  • Mark survey points, document detailed observations and sketches, and maintain company equipment and vehicles used for surveying.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proficient in operating GPS devices, data collection tools, and Total Stations.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative in various situations.
  • Understanding of the principles, techniques, and methodologies of land surveying.
  • Familiarity with computer-aided drafting principles and civil engineering standards, including construction specifications and regulations.
  • Knowledge of safe workplace practices specific to the industry.
  • Capability to operate motorized equipment effectively.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in diverse environmental conditions.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift weights ranging from 50 to 75 pounds.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage office tasks efficiently, prioritize responsibilities, and maintain positive interpersonal relations with colleagues and clients.
  • May require local travel within a specified radius.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license is mandatory.
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • High school diploma is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a survey crew chief is preferred.
Compensation and Benefits: Salary and hourly wages are commensurate with experience. Benefits include medical coverage, 401K plan, vision and dental insurance, and paid time off.
