Position Overview:
The Project Coordinator (PC) serves as the primary engineering authority on the project. Reporting directly to the Project Manager, the PC oversees all on-site project administration and is responsible for managing office engineers and jobsite administrators.
Required Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering, architecture, or construction management.
- A minimum of 2-4 years of experience in large-scale commercial construction projects.
- A valid driver's license.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, as well as Prolog, Primavera, and AutoDesk Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous internships within the construction sector.
- Experience in materials management, including submittals, shop drawings, and expediting material deliveries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the project manager and superintendent to gather necessary data and prepare monthly Owner Pay Applications.
- Identify and resolve interface conflicts between the company and subcontractors, as well as among subcontractors.
- Assist field supervisors with the interpretation of drawings, specifications, and inquiries from the Architect/Engineer.
- Process and evaluate all Change Orders and Requests for Information.
- Aid in the development and updating of project schedules.
- Provide support for form detailing and special design needs.
- Conduct production analysis studies.
- Facilitate field-initiated purchasing.
- Organize and lead weekly Owner/Architect/Contractor meetings, maintaining detailed minutes.
- Contribute to Monthly Margin Analysis.
- Participate in jobsite safety meetings and conduct weekly safety audits.
- Ensure quality through participation in Preparatory Meetings, Initial Inspections, and Follow-up Inspections.
- Mentor and manage office engineers.
- Collaborate with the project manager and superintendent to develop and manage Cost Control and Labor Recap.
Possess a solid understanding of how the VDC Scope of Work, VDC Execution Plan, and VDC deliverables align with project planning strategies related to field operations, including schedule management, model coordination for submittals, constructability reviews, installation validation, and BIM to Field Layout.
Ability to navigate and review current 3D model viewing and scheduling software while collaborating with the VDC team.
