Responsibilities:
We are currently seeking a full-time Clinic RN specializing in Cardiology. This role is designed for those who wish to work in a supportive environment with no weekend, night, or recognized holiday shifts required.
Job Summary:
This position involves delivering professional nursing services focused on high-quality care for cardiac patients in an outpatient setting. The role aligns with CommonSpirit Health standards and applicable regulatory requirements. The incumbent will engage in direct patient care, including assessment, coordination, triage, evaluation, and delegation of tasks to the patient care team. Additionally, the RN will provide specialized cardiac-related consultation and education to patients and their families regarding procedures and ongoing disease management.
Essential Duties:
- Administers cardiovascular and pharmacological stress tests utilizing imaging modalities and IV therapy as appropriate; interprets EKG findings according to established protocols.
- Completes cardiac risk assessment forms in response to requests from healthcare providers for cardiac clearance for clinical and diagnostic tests; forwards assessments to the Cardiologist for final review.
- Reviews established protocols for each procedure/study and provides tailored training/information to patients based on their medical history and physician-specific protocols.
- Acts as the initial point of contact for patients, performing nursing triage activities based on direct interactions or phone inquiries; independently triages cardiac patients in accordance with standing orders and protocols.
- Documents studies, procedures, and patient interactions in the electronic medical record following established procedures; enters, pends, and signs orders as necessary.
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program recognized by the state board and two years of relevant experience demonstrating the necessary job knowledge and abilities. Experience in a cardiology-related field is preferred.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse.
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
