Job Summary

J & J Worldwide Services is seeking a skilled HVAC Technician to join our team. As an HVAC Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing environmental-control systems, utilizing your knowledge of refrigeration theory, pipefitting, and structural layout.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation and Service: Install, service, troubleshoot, and repair environmental-control systems, including chillers, air handling units, controls, package units, split systems, exhaust fans, refrigerators, freezers, hot/chilled water pumps.
  • System Evaluation and Repair: Evaluate equipment to determine needed repairs, and perform tasks ranging from operation of systems to examination and evaluation of equipment.
  • System Installation and Testing: Install refrigeration and air conditioning systems by positioning compressors, motors, condensers, humidifiers, evaporators, heaters, and other components in accordance with design specifications.
  • System Maintenance and Repair: Maintain refrigeration and air conditioning systems by checking performance and determining problems, and repair, adjust, or replace defective elements.
  • Electrical and Pneumatic System Installation and Repair: Install, maintain, and repair the electrical and pneumatic systems associated with refrigeration and air conditioning equipment.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Perform preventive maintenance tasks to ensure the optimal performance of systems and equipment.
  • Shift Coverage and Other Duties: Perform other duties and shift coverage as required.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum 4 years of experience performing the specific craft function or certification from a recognized trade school.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Broad trade knowledge of mechanical principles, standard shop methods of the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic Trade, and ability to interpret and develop technical reports.
  • Certifications and Clearances: Ability to obtain and maintain NAC/LAC clearance after hire, and pass a local background check.
Physical and Environmental Requirements
  • Lifting and Mobility: Ability to lift 50 lbs., squat, bend, stoop, and kneel for short periods, climb a ladder, and stand for long periods of time.
  • Environmental Conditions: Occasional exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, but none to the point of being disagreeable.
