Job Overview

As a Senior Power Plant Mechanic at Montefiore Medical Center, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our power plant equipment. Reporting directly to the Shift Supervisor, you will perform preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel generators, gas turbines, boilers, pumps, compressors, fans, and related equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on power plant equipment to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Conduct inspections and troubleshoot issues to identify and resolve problems promptly.
  • Collaborate with the Shift Supervisor and other team members to ensure seamless plant operations.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
  • Assist with plant operations and related duties as needed.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; trade apprenticeship program a plus.
  • 3 years of related experience in power plant maintenance or a related field.
  • Ability to interpret equipment manuals and communicate effectively in English.
  • Considerable knowledge of mechanical and millwright trades, including temperature and pressure limitations of metals and other materials.
  • Knowledge of occupational and environmental hazards associated with general maintenance and operations.
  • Knowledge of safety rules and first aid.
  • Knowledge of rigging and material handling equipment.
