About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Behavior Therapist to join our team on a part-time basis. As a Behavior Therapist, you will work with individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, and mental health disorders in a 1:1 setting, following ABA methods and procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Organize and maintain instructional areas throughout sessions
  • Prepare and keep binders, stimuli, and materials accessible and organized
  • Dress appropriately and arrive on time for work
  • Complete tasks assigned to facilitate session completion
  • Receive supervision from supervisors through direct observation
  • Attend team meetings and scheduled trainings
  • Communicate professionally with coworkers and parents
  • Respond to internal communication within 24 hours
  • Practice universal precautions to protect against communicable diseases
  • Maintain communication with parents about therapy aspects
  • Deliver instruction following procedures learned from training sessions
  • Collect, record, and analyze data accurately
  • Respond to client behavior following procedures learned from training sessions
  • Complete necessary training and demonstrate accurate implementation and reporting
  • Perform and maintain certification in basic first aid procedures
  • Complete and submit progress notes by session completion
  • Identify interventions needed for clients and communicate with monitoring BCBA or supervisor
  • Implement Crisis Prevention Institute procedures as required
  • Report directly to monitoring BCBA for client needs and implementation of programs
  • Maintain client privacy in accordance with HIPAA regulations and Gateway policies
Qualifications
  • Ability to communicate expressively and receptively verbally and in writing
  • Ability to sit in a child-sized chair or on the floor, switch from standing to sitting quickly, walk, jog, or run quickly in the event of client elopement, and assume and maintain various postures
  • This position requires bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, reaching, sitting, standing, walking, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, visual acuity, and ability to lift up to 40 lbs
