Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Custodian to join our team at Big Y. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and attractive environment throughout the store.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize the meat cutting area, kitchen, and bakery area to ensure a high level of food safety and quality.
• Maintain proper department conditions and supplies, including racks, sales floor, bottle redemption area, closets, and workstations.
• Operate equipment and machinery safely and efficiently to support the smooth operation of the store.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent equipment breakdowns and ensure the overall cleanliness of the store.

Requirements

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve common goals.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of cleanliness and organization.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy equipment and supplies as needed.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning and sanitation procedures and protocols.
