The Vail Resorts team is seeking an experienced Freeride Team Coach to work with top ski athletes ages 10-15 in a competitive training environment.

About the Job

This role requires excellent planning, communication, and programming skills. The coach will provide quality training to program athletes in a safe and fun manner while upholding all California Skier Safety Act rules/regulations and Vail Resorts guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Uphold the highest levels of safety on varied terrain in a high alpine setting with varying winter weather conditions.
  • Communicate with athletes and parents on skill development.
  • Follow all Expedition Kirkwood and Resort policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Travel to and support at off-mountain events and competitions.
  • Evaluate athlete's skill sets, develop a plan accordingly, and work with the program coordinator to ensure each group is cohesive.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • PSIA, USASA, USSA certification, and/or competitive background.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
  • Excellent communication and guest service skills.
  • Expert-level skiing ability.
Preferred Skills
  • Previous experience in coaching or working with kids.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Previous competitive background.
  • PSIA Freestyle Accreditations.
About the Compensation

The expected salary range for this position is $21.00 - $62.52 per hour. This is based on the company's pay scale and industry standards for similar positions.
