Position Summary:
We are in search of a highly qualified and seasoned Senior Geotechnical Engineer to enhance our operations in Riverside County. This pivotal role will be based in our Bermuda Dunes office, where you will serve as a senior authority within our geotechnical engineering division. Your expertise will be essential in guiding the planning, design, and execution of diverse geotechnical projects. Collaboration with clients, project managers, and other engineering specialists will be key to ensuring project success within designated timelines and budgets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage geotechnical, forensic, and construction projects, engaging with clients, design teams, and contractors.
  • Direct soil exploration activities, including logging and classification.
  • Coordinate laboratory testing to assess soil characteristics and engineering properties.
  • Analyze geological and seismic risks, providing mitigation strategies as necessary.
  • Evaluate and recommend solutions for distressed structures and failed slopes.
  • Deliver comprehensive analysis and design recommendations for various foundation types.
  • Prepare detailed proposals, schedules, and reports to meet project objectives while adhering to budget constraints.
  • Supervise technical staff to ensure compliance with company standards and successful project completion.
  • Engage in business development activities and maintain client relationships.

Qualifications:
  • B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Geotechnical Engineering is required.
  • M.S. Degree in Geotechnical Engineering is preferred.
  • Current CA Professional Engineer (PE) license is mandatory.
  • CA Geotechnical Engineer (GE) license or the ability to obtain one is strongly preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in geotechnical consulting, with a strong understanding of local engineering practices.
  • At least 3 years of project management experience is essential.
  • Experience in client interaction and business development is required.
  • Familiarity with materials testing, special inspection, and laboratory oversight is advantageous.

Skills and Competencies:
  • Proficient in advanced geotechnical and seismic analysis.
  • Familiarity with various geotechnical software applications.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and integrity.
