Position Overview:
As a Civil Engineer, PE at Barry-Wehmiller, you will be part of a dynamic team that is shaping the future of engineering solutions. You will collaborate with industry experts and engage directly with clients, tackling complex challenges that impact the environment and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

In this position, you will:

  • Conduct conceptual studies, planning initiatives, property assessments, and utility designs.
  • Implement stormwater management strategies and navigate city permitting processes.
  • Manage project activities and oversee the work of sub-consultants.
  • Perform FAA analyses and site selection, including local zoning and environmental evaluations.
  • Assist in the design of site plans for industrial facilities.
  • Execute hydraulic calculations and prepare reports for regulatory authorities.
  • Utilize analysis software, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and HydroCAD for design supervision.
  • Create comprehensive site construction documents and develop project specifications.
  • Prepare and manage governmental permit applications related to site plans and environmental considerations.
  • Stay informed on changes in codes and industry standards.
  • Evaluate land surveys, GIS mapping, and geotechnical reports.
  • Conduct site and facility condition assessments and review project plans.
  • Develop budgets and provide project progress reports to management.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations to maintain a safe environment.
Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in site design and engineering.
  • Expertise in permitting processes at various government levels.
  • Proven experience in industrial site design and project management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience in producing construction documents using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Field assessment experience and capability in hydraulic calculations.
  • Leadership skills in supervising design and support staff.
  • A Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • A Professional Engineering license (PE).
