They are seeking a skilled Commercial Roofing Estimator to join their team. The Estimator is responsible for calculating initial job budgets and preparing formal bids by interpreting blueprints, conducting take-offs, and estimating project costs. This role involves liaising with clients and their representatives to ensure that technical specifications and designs are practical and adhere to industry standards.
Key Responsibilities of the Commercial Roofing Estimator include:
- Creating precise and comprehensive job estimates.
- Determining project labor, material, and time requirements by analyzing proposals, blueprints, written specifications, and related documents.
- Conducting site assessments and participating in pre-bid meetings to grasp project scope.
- Reviewing and taking off blueprints.
- Requesting bids from subcontractors.
- Collecting subcontractor pricing and performing scope reviews.
- Assessing subcontractor bids against bid documents and plans to ensure the complete scope of work is addressed.
- Evaluating subcontractors' capability to execute the work.
- Calculating costs for subcontract labor, general conditions, and materials.
- Collaborating with clients to help them meet their project cost budgets by considering plan details, alternative materials/finishes, and construction methods.
- Working closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and the Pre-Construction team to foster relationships with existing clients and subcontractors.
- Generating Profit and Loss reports.
Qualifications for the Commercial Roofing Estimator:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Commercial Roofing Estimation.
- Proficient understanding of commercial roofing documentation.
- General contracting knowledge.
- Ability to draft and review contracts.
- Familiarity with EDGE estimating software is advantageous.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction, Engineering, or Business is preferred.
- Knowledge of various roofing systems, materials, construction processes, and theories.
- Capability to identify, rectify, and report unsafe conditions in accordance with company and OSHA standards.
Compensation for the Commercial Roofing Estimator: Competitive base salary ranging from $110k to $125k plus commission.
