Agronomy Internship Opportunity

The Country Club is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Agronomy Intern to join our team. As an Agronomy Intern, you will work closely with our Superintendents to gain hands-on experience in daily course preparation, agronomic and cultural practices, irrigation maintenance, chemical/fertilizer calibration and application, water management, equipment setup and maintenance, and detailed record keeping/inventory.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Golf Course Superintendent in providing exceptional course conditions for our members.
  • Participate in daily course preparation and setup, including mowing, aerification, and divot filling.
  • Contribute to golf course maintenance, including hand watering and turf grass stress management.
  • Support equipment setup and maintenance, as well as detailed record keeping and inventory.
  • Collaborate with the Turf Team to develop and implement topdressing programs and applications.
  • Assist with tree maintenance, hazard maintenance, and other duties as assigned by the Superintendent and Director of Grounds.
Requirements:
  • Must have a strong passion for the turf industry and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to make quick decisions and work effectively in a team setting.
  • Must have a driver's license and be enrolled in an accredited 2 or 4-year Turfgrass Management or Plant Sciences Program.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for 8 to 10 hours and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to arrive at work at early morning hours and work outdoors for extended periods.
