Job Summary

The Medical Laboratory Scientist is accountable for providing accurate and timely results to physicians, and performing various chemical, microscopic and bacteriologic tests on patient/resident specimens to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of diseases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct laboratory tests and procedures to analyze patient specimens and provide data for diagnosis and treatment
  • Ensure accurate and timely results are reported to physicians and other healthcare professionals
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide high-quality patient care
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance laboratory processes and patient outcomes

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field
  • Certification as Medical Laboratory Scientist from ASCP or AMT preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced laboratory environment and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
