Soil Laboratory Specialist

This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. You will be working alongside our experienced team of engineers and technicians, contributing to the success of our Geotechnical and Environmental Engineering projects.

• Perform laboratory tests on soil and concrete samples, including compaction curves, moisture/density, gradation, triaxial, and R-value tests, as well as some concrete compression testing.
• Effectively communicate test results to office and field personnel, as well as clients and contractors.
• Assist professional staff with supplying and maintaining field equipment, and materials storage and disposal.
• Prepare lab documents for internal clients' compression testing of concrete.
• Pick up soil and concrete samples from various project sites.

A successful candidate will be able to follow proper procedures, perform accurate computations, and build and maintain strong relationships with colleagues, clients, and contractors. Additionally, they must have clear and concise verbal/written communication and computer skills, the ability to work independently with moderate supervision, and perform various tasks at the discretion of the supervisor. Lab work involves strenuous activity.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a passion for geology or civil engineering. Ideal candidates should be enrolled in a relevant degree program and be in good academic standing, having taken at least one soils class. Proven dependability, keen attention to detail, and well-developed interpersonal skills are essential.

The successful candidate will have a clean driving record, be drug-free, and be able to physically transport 50 lbs. on a consistent basis, as well as have the physical ability to perform strenuous activity.
