Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Carpenter to join our team at Novant Health. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for performing advanced level construction and maintenance work to ensure the service life of our company assets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform advanced level construction and maintenance work, as assigned by Plant Engineering Services leadership.
  • Ensure the service life of company assets, such as physical structures and grounds, is maintained in an operative and safe working condition.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve exceptional patient care and satisfaction.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of building codes, electrical codes, fire codes, and The Joint Commission standards for the Environment of Care.
  • Read and understand blueprints and electrical schematics to ensure accurate and efficient work.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED, required.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience performing general construction activities in a commercial, industrial or healthcare setting, required.
  • Minimum of four years of experience performing general maintenance in a healthcare facility or similar work environment, preferred.
  • Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing.
  • Ability to successfully apply customer satisfaction standards.
  • Knowledgeable in the use of a variety of hand and power tools used in facility maintenance.
  • Ability to interact with individuals of all cultures and levels of authority.
  • Valid driver's license required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification/s or thorough knowledge of building codes, electrical codes, fire codes, and The Joint Commission standards for the Environment of Care.
  • Certification/s or thorough knowledge in reading and understanding blueprints and electrical schematics.
