Position Summary
The Hog Loader collaborates with fellow loaders to efficiently sort and transport finishing animals from pens to trucks, prioritizing animal welfare and proper handling techniques.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently sorts and loads animals while ensuring a SAFE working environment.
- Utilizes herding boards to guide animals from pens to aisles.
- Accurately counts animals as they are loaded onto trucks.
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of crew vehicles and equipment.
- Respects the property and equipment of growers.
- Upholds a positive company image at all times.
- Understands and adheres to company policies regarding Environmental, Biosecurity, and safety protocols.
- Familiarizes with the emergency notification process and reviews it regularly at the work site.
- Complies with personal protective equipment (PPE) policies.
- Assists in the training of new loading staff as needed.

Qualifications
To excel in this position, candidates should meet the following requirements:
- High School diploma or GED is preferred.
- Previous experience in livestock handling is advantageous.
- A valid driver's license is required.
- Capability to perform physically demanding tasks.
- Strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
- Proficiency in using loading equipment and tools.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including days and nights.
- Supportive of the mission to raise swine for high-quality pork production.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills, fostering a respectful and positive work atmosphere.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
The characteristics of the work environment and physical demands are as follows:
- Vision requirements include close and distance vision, with the ability to adjust focus.
- Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands for handling, reach with arms, and communicate effectively.
- Must be able to tolerate exposure to blood, animal dander, manure, dust, odors, and noisy conditions.
