Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Rebar Ironworker Helper to join our team at Bechtel Corporation. As a Rebar Ironworker Helper, you will assist Ironworkers in performing job tasks, selecting and shaping reinforcing bar to exacting specifications, and placing rods in forms.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Communicate effectively with Ironworkers and other team members to ensure smooth job execution.
  2. Select and measure reinforcing bar to exact specifications, cutting to length as needed.
  3. Place rods in forms, spacing and fastening them together using wire and pliers.
  4. Position and secure steel bars in concrete forms and reinforce concrete.
  5. Cut bars to required lengths using hacksaws, band saws, or acetylene torches.
  6. Bend steel rods using hickey bars or rod-bending machines.
  7. Reinforce concrete with wire mesh as needed.
  8. Ensure all reinforcing material is in its proper position to receive its intended structural load.
  9. Load, transport, and unload materials, tools, equipment, and supplies.
  10. Assist in lifting, positioning, and securing materials and work pieces during installation.
  11. Clean and perform minor maintenance activities on tools and equipment.
  12. Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  13. Ability to safely traverse uneven terrain, climb vertical ladders, and work at heights.
  14. Perform a variety of tasks involving safe dexterous use of hand tools and power tools.
