We are currently seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to become an integral part of our team. This role provides the selected candidate with the chance to engage in the design of cutting-edge industrial and manufacturing facilities for top-tier global clients.

Key Responsibilities

The following responsibilities are typical for this position, though not exhaustive. The role demands a commitment to delivering high-quality service within designated timelines and budgets, all within a collaborative team environment.
  • Utilizes extensive and varied knowledge of engineering principles across a wide range of assignments.
  • Independently resolves engineering challenges and may develop and refine innovative design solutions. For licensed professionals, this includes the responsibility of stamping and sealing drawings/documents as defined by jurisdictional regulations.
  • Acts as a representative of the firm in meetings and discussions to address significant issues and to strategize project coordination.
  • Plans, develops, coordinates, and oversees medium to large-scale engineering projects or multiple smaller complex projects, ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, quality control, and inter-disciplinary collaboration.
  • Responsible for the acceptance or rejection of critical items concerning materials, equipment, and construction quality.
  • May serve as a technical advisor or consultant in a specialized discipline, employing advanced techniques and expertise.
  • Provides supervision and guidance primarily related to overarching objectives, critical issues, innovative concepts, policy matters, and unique challenges.
  • May oversee, coordinate, and review the work of a team of engineers and designers assigned to the same project.
  • Assists in developing the scope of work and estimating engineering hours for new projects.
  • Designs foundation systems, including conventional shallow spread footings, mat foundations, and various piling methods.
  • Evaluates existing structures for current and new loads, providing recommendations for necessary reinforcements.
  • Creates engineering designs using 3D design tools, developing them into detailed working drawings based on sound engineering principles.
  • Informs supervisors and project managers of potential scope changes.
  • Maintains ongoing professional education in the field.
  • Engages in client interactions and business development initiatives.
  • Meets with clients to clarify project scope, report on progress, and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Travel may be required, primarily local, with some potential for out-of-state travel.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering, qualifying for licensure in the relevant state, is mandatory.
  • A Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE) license is required, along with a minimum of eight (8) years of relevant practical experience.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software, including RISA and Profis, is essential.
  • Experience with Revit and familiarity with software such as BIM360, BlueBeam, and Navisworks is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of structural fundamentals and knowledge of building codes and material standards.
  • Familiarity with seismic design and detailing requirements for concrete structures, steel structures, and foundations is important.
  • A valid driver's license is required, though this may be waived for international assignments.
  • Salary Range: $105,000-$130,000/year, contingent on location, education, experience, and relevant certifications.
