The Methodist Hospital is seeking a skilled Respiratory Care Practitioner II - Part-Time to join our team. As a vital part of our patient care team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform and document patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
- Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.
- Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
- Assist with placement of artificial airways.
- Initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
- Monitor patient for therapeutic response.
- Notify provider and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response.
- Assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients.
- Respond to emergent patient situations and ensure airway integrity and adequate ventilation during resuscitation as required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.
- RRT/Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT / RCP) certification.
- Licensed Respiratory Therapist.
- Vocational School Graduate, or Associate Degree, or Bachelors Degree, or Masters Degree.
