Job Summary

The Speech Therapist provides high-quality, patient-centered care by developing and conducting individualized therapy programs for patients with communication, cognitive, and/or swallowing impairments.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct a subjective assessment of assigned patients' speech language abilities during spontaneous conversation.
  • Administer objective tests to assess patients' communication assets and liabilities.
  • Structure and implement individualized patient programs to improve communication abilities.
  • Evaluate patients regularly during treatment and adjust programs as needed to maximize patient progress.
  • Document progress in patients' charts, including notes, charges, discharge notes, and patient communication.
  • Consult with the Program Director and Rehab Physician/Medical Director regarding pre-screen assessments and physician consultations to determine appropriate placement of potential patients.
Requirements
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support
  • Certification of Clinical Competence (CCCs)
  • Speech Pathologist licensure in the state of Georgia
