Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive assessments to diagnose speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders in students, utilizing evidence-based practices and standardized tests.
  • Treatment Planning and Implementation: Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each student's specific needs, incorporating a range of therapeutic approaches and strategies.
  • Direct Therapy Services: Provide direct therapy services to students, both individually and in groups, in accordance with the treatment plan, promoting effective communication and social skills.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to integrate therapy goals into the classroom environment, ensuring a cohesive and supportive learning experience.
  • IEP Meetings and Progress Monitoring: Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, contributing to the development and review of student-specific goals and objectives, and monitor and document student progress, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans as needed.
  • Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of evaluations, therapy sessions, and progress reports, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and school policies.
  • Professional Development: Stay current with best practices and continuing education in the field of speech-language pathology, applying new knowledge and skills to enhance student outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Licensure and Certification: Valid SLP license or certification in California, with Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA preferred.
  • Experience: Experience working in a school setting is an advantage, with strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Teamwork and Adaptability: Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, adapting to changing circumstances and priorities.
