Position Overview

The Travel Radiology Technician plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality imaging services across various healthcare settings. This position requires a dedicated professional with the ability to adapt to different environments while maintaining excellent patient care.

Certification Requirements
  • Mandatory Certifications: BLS, ARRT, WA LIC
  • Documentation System: Proficiency in EPIC
Job Responsibilities
  • Accepting first-time travelers with a minimum of 2 years of experience.
  • Availability for on-call duties as needed to support unit requirements.
  • Floating between departments as required to meet operational needs.
  • Working hours: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 3 shifts of 12 hours from 9 AM to 9 PM in the radiology department.
  • Utilizing Shimadzu portables and Siemens fluoroscopy equipment.
  • Primarily focusing on Emergency Department and Inpatient services during weekends, with occasional swallow studies for stroke patients.
Experience Requirements
  • Work Setting Experience: Outpatient, Inpatient, Emergency Room, Adult ICU (required).
  • Preferred Experience: Operating Room.
  • General Skills: Proficiency in PACS and portable imaging (required).
  • X-ray Procedure Experience: Extremities, Abdomen/GI, Spine/Pelvis, Head, Chest/Thorax, Musculoskeletal, Lower and Upper Extremities (required).
  • Preferred Skills: Fluoroscopy Studies, Enema Studies, Surgery/C-Arm.
Schedule Details
  • Shifts: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 3x12's from 9 AM to 9 PM.
  • On-call and floating responsibilities as necessary.
  • Weekend focus primarily on Emergency Department and Inpatient services.
Unit Specific Information
  • Radiology department operates on a schedule of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 3x12's from 9 AM to 9 PM.
  • Equipment utilized includes Shimadzu portables and Siemens fluoroscopy systems.
  • Weekend duties primarily involve Emergency Department and Inpatient services, with occasional swallow studies for stroke patients.
Additional Considerations
  • All units requiring on-call staff must adhere to a 30-minute response time.
  • This is a standard requirement outlined in the unit description.
  • All facilities necessitating on-call coverage maintain a 30-minute response time from the moment the traveler is contacted.
