Phlebotomy Instructor Job Description

NorthWest Arkansas Community College (NWACC) is seeking a highly qualified Phlebotomy Instructor to join our team. As a Phlebotomy Instructor, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering comprehensive phlebotomy training programs to students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop curriculum and instructional materials for phlebotomy courses, ensuring alignment with industry standards and regulations.
  • Deliver engaging and interactive classroom lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on training sessions on phlebotomy techniques, safety procedures, and specimen handling.
  • Provide one-on-one guidance and support to students, including constructive feedback on performance and progress.
  • Organize and oversee practical skills labs and simulation experiences to reinforce learning objectives.
  • Evaluate student comprehension and proficiency through assessments, quizzes, practical exams, and other evaluation methods.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and lab activities.
  • Stay current with advancements in phlebotomy practices, equipment, and technologies to ensure program content remains up-to-date.
  • Collaborate with other faculty members and administrative staff to enhance the overall educational experience for students.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a health career field or certificate degree in a health career field.
  • IV and/or blood draw allowed in career scope of practice with active certification/licensure in that field.
  • Minimum of three years experience in certification/licensure health career field.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification as a Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) from a recognized accrediting agency.
  • Prior experience in teaching, training, or instructional design.
  • Five to ten years experience in the health career field.
