The Detroit Medical Center is in search of a skilled MRI Technologist to join our team in a dynamic healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct diagnostic MRI examinations while adhering to established protocols and safety standards.
- Confirm patient identity and assess medical history to ensure the appropriateness of the imaging procedure.
- Engage with patients to explain the MRI process, including potential risks and benefits.
- Prepare and operate MRI equipment to capture high-quality images as per physician directives.
- Review and analyze images, documenting any deviations from standard procedures and communicating findings to the radiologist.
- Respond effectively to medical emergencies and provide necessary post-procedure care instructions to patients.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the radiology department to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
- Provide training and support to new staff, residents, and student technologists.
1. Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiology (R) or Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) or from the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT).
2. Completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) training as mandated by the American Heart Association (AHA).
3. A minimum of one year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiology (R) or advanced certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR).
