Residential Instructor

Community Residences is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Instructor to join our team. As a Residential Instructor, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing and supportive environment for individuals with developmental disabilities.

1. Develop and Implement Individualized Plans: Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to create and implement individualized plans that cater to the unique needs and goals of each client.
2. Provide Support and Care: Offer emotional, physical, and behavioral support to clients, promoting their independence and well-being.
3. Monitor and Report Changes: Regularly monitor clients' medical, physical, and behavioral changes, reporting any concerns to the supervisor or program coordinator.
4. Administer Medication: Once certified, administer medication to clients at prescribed times, adhering to agency policy and regulatory standards.
5. Assist with Daily Living Tasks: Assist clients with daily living tasks, such as meal preparation, household management, and personal care.
6. Participate in Training and Development: Engage in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities.
7. Maintain Confidentiality and Boundaries: Ensure the confidentiality and dignity of clients, adhering to Community Residences' policies and procedures.

Requirements:

• A high school diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of two years of experience in human services.
• Valid CT driver's license and a good driving record.
• Reliable transportation and the ability to transport clients.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Work Schedule: Friday - Monday, 2pm - 10pm, 32 hours per week.
