Job Summary:
The University of Miami's Department of Pharmacy is seeking a Per-Diem Pharmacy Technician to work in our Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center location. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting our pharmacy team by compounding and dispensing medical prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist.
Key Responsibilities:
- Weighs, counts, measures, and mixes medication to ensure accurate and safe dispensing.
- Handles inventory to ensure the pharmacy is appropriately stocked and maintains accurate records.
- Receives and verifies written prescriptions, fills prescriptions or refill requests, and ensures information is complete and accurate.
- Provides excellent customer service by answering questions, locating items, and referring customers to the appropriate staff.
- Establishes and maintains patient profiles and records, and transfers medication from vials to sterile and disposable syringes using aseptic techniques.
- Supplies and monitors robotic machines that dispense medicine into containers, and prepares and processes medical insurance claim forms.
- Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures, and safeguards University assets.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
- FL Pharmacy Technician license.
