Catapult is seeking a Geomatics Field Supervisor I or II, depending on your level of experience. If you are eager to advance your career in the Land Surveying sector within a supportive environment that fosters professional development and acknowledges dedication, then Catapult's Geomatics division is the ideal place for you. This role presents an exciting opportunity for individuals with Land Surveying backgrounds, such as Survey Rodmen or Crew Chiefs. You will be responsible for supervising a survey team across various survey types, identifying the locations of natural and constructed features on the Earth's surface, as well as underground and underwater, all while enjoying the outdoors. The surveys you will engage with include, but are not limited to, boundary, ALTA, topographic, existing conditions, right-of-way, transmission line, transportation, construction, and more. Our Geomatics personnel thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, working on a diverse array of projects, including municipal initiatives, university developments, and private sector ventures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage field crews and survey operations.
- Ensure quality control of work, focusing on accuracy, thoroughness, and clarity.
- Coordinate schedules, budgets, and provide responsive service to clients.
- Supervise the use of surveying instruments and equipment, utilizing the latest technologies.
- Communicate effectively with clients, project teams, and the public.
- Train and instruct survey crews in methodologies and equipment usage.
- Represent Catapult in a professional and safe manner.
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required; an Associate's degree in surveying, Engineering Technology, Drafting, or a related field is preferred.
- Geomatics Field Supervisor I: Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience as Crew Chief, Surveyor, Survey Technician, Rodman, or Instrument Operator.
- Geomatics Field Supervisor II: Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience as Crew Chief, Surveyor, Survey Technician, Rodman, or Instrument Operator.
- Advanced knowledge of land surveying principles and proficiency in operating land survey equipment.
- Experience with Trimble, Leica, and Carlson equipment and software is preferred.
- NSPS Certified Survey Technician and/or Survey Intern Certification is preferred.
- A valid driver's license is required.
- Must be able to pass a drug test and driving record check.
- Basic arithmetic and mathematical skills for calculations, along with basic computer skills.
- Willingness to work outside regular business hours, including weekends and holidays when necessary, and to perform overtime as required.
- Ability to travel overnight as needed.

- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship for an employment-based visa.
The role requires the ability to perform physical tasks, including squatting, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing ladders, navigating challenging terrain, and accessing construction sites in various weather conditions. You should be prepared to frequently handle and operate land surveying equipment.

Catapult's Geomatics group specializes in capturing, processing, and delivering spatially acquired data through a variety of methods, including traditional land surveying, global positioning systems, laser scanning, and unmanned aerial systems (drones).
