Medical Support Professional

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Medical Support Professional to join our team at NavitsPartners. As a Medical Support Professional, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide patient care tasks, including venipuncture, EKGs, and assisting patients with transfers and dressing.
* Prepare exam rooms, assist physicians with procedures, take vital signs, and relay instructions to patients and families.
* Provide relevant information to patients via phone and assist with specimen collection and point-of-care testing.
* Handle clerical tasks, such as sending and receiving patient medical records, managing charts, obtaining lab reports, and hospital notes.
* Enter orders into the EMR system or prepare prescription refill requests for physician review and approval.
* Manage inventory, orders, and restock medical supplies as needed.
* Prepare examination rooms and instruments following proper sterilization techniques, hospital policies, and infection control guidelines.
* Maintain various logs, such as medication refrigeration, sterilization processes, crash cart, and point-of-care testing.
* Ensure medications and medical supplies are disposed of properly following expiration dates and institutional policies.
* Follow safety and legal regulations to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
* Adhere to personal protective equipment requirements to protect against exposure to hazardous substances and infection risks.
* Assist with filing and maintaining medical charts, including operative reports and test results.
* May assist with scheduling surgeries or procedures, preparing necessary pre-admissions paperwork, and coordinating with patients and surgical coordinators.
* Perform proficient phlebotomy duties as needed.
* Schedules and registers patient appointments, updating demographic and insurance information.
* Adjusts and confirms patient office schedules.
* Verifies and updates insurance information using internal systems or web sources.
* Handles pre-certification for procedures as necessary.
Requirements:
* High School Diploma or GED required.
* Completion of an approved Medical Assistant certificate course.
* Medical Assistant certificate required.
* BCLS certification required (AHA).
* AHA Certification
* HIPAA
* Infection Control
* Medical Assistant certificate from an approved school
* Phlebotomist certification
* Venipuncture proficiency
Work Environment:
* General office environment with potential for heavy lifting and strenuous physical activity.
Language:
* English (Speak, Read, Write)
Minimum Degree Required:
* High School Diploma or GED
Hours Per Week:
* 37.50
Hours Per Day:
* 7.50
Days Per Week:
* 5.00
Schedule Notes:
* Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 8 PM, with rotating Saturdays (9 AM to 5 PM).
