Position Overview

The Senior Pharmacy Specialist is accountable for the precise and secure dispensing of pharmaceuticals to the community while ensuring compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations governing pharmacy practice and adherence to organizational policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpretation of clinical information.
  • Conduct final inspections of all packaged medications before they are dispensed to patients.
  • Supervise and oversee the activities of pharmacy interns and technicians.
  • Maintain professional and personal accountability for any tasks delegated to interns and technicians under supervision.
  • Review and verify all controlled substances received from pharmaceutical wholesalers.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of all necessary documentation, forms, and reports as per company policy.
  • Engage in the pharmacy's continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Keep the prescription area clean, safe, and secure.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Must be a graduate of an accredited College of Pharmacy and possess a clear and active pharmacy license issued by the relevant state board.
