Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven individual to join our team as a Collection Agent. As a Collection Agent, you will play a critical role in recovering outstanding debts and ensuring the financial health of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct outbound and inbound calls to debtors, attempting to collect overdue payments and resolve outstanding accounts.
  • Utilize various communication channels to establish contact with debtors and negotiate payment arrangements.
  • Investigate and evaluate debtor information to determine the most appropriate collection strategies.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all collection activities.
  • Advise debtors on payment options and provide detailed explanations of outstanding debts.
  • Implement effective skip tracing techniques to locate debtors who have changed their contact information.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to resolve complex payment issues and escalate cases when necessary.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant regulations and legal requirements pertaining to debt collection practices.
  • Meet or exceed monthly collection targets and maintain a high recovery rate.
  • Provide regular reports and updates to the management team regarding collection activities.
Requirements
  • Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with debtors.
  • Negotiation skills to reach mutually beneficial payment agreements.
  • Persistence and resilience to handle challenging situations.
  • Problem-solving abilities to evaluate debtor information and develop effective collection strategies.
  • Time management and organization skills to prioritize tasks and manage a large volume of accounts.
  • Empathy and customer focus to show understanding towards debtors.
  • Knowledge of debt collection regulations to ensure compliance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proven experience working in a collection's role or a similar customer service role involving financial transactions.
  • Familiarity with debt collection software and CRM systems.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, for data analysis and reporting.
  • Prior experience in a target-driven environment, meeting or exceeding set goals and objectives.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and financial terminology.
