Job Description:

The Physical Therapist will provide and coordinate services for acute and swing bed patients in the hospital setting, as well as in outpatient settings. The ideal candidate will have the ability to modify and adapt treatment techniques to improve outcomes, provision of assessment and evidence-based treatments, skills in the wide range of basic evaluation instruments, participation in PI/QA programs, participation in departmental meetings, supervision of PTA/aid as needed, and participation in promoting occupational therapy to the hospital, community, local and outside referrals/providers.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist the physician in evaluating patients by applying diagnostic and prognostic muscle, nerve, joint, and functional ability tests.
  • Treats patients to relieve pain and/or develop or restore function to maintain maximum performance.
  • Records and reports to the physician the patient's reaction to treatment and/or any changes in the patient's condition.
  • Educates patients and their families in the use of prosthetic, orthotic, and assistive devices (canes, walkers, wheelchairs, etc.).
  • Attends rehabilitation center staff meetings and in-service presentations.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy required.
  • A master degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited educational institution, passed the National Physical Therapist Examination (NPTE).
  • Compliant with state regulatory requirements.
  • Must hold valid license from Physical Therapy Board of California.
  • A valid BLS for healthcare provider certification, approved by the American Heart Association.
