Key Responsibilities
**Essential Functions:**
- Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent equipment downtime and ensure optimal performance.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues using precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Remove and replace defective parts as needed.
- Provide technical support and guidance to colleagues as required.
- Prepare and submit detailed maintenance reports to management.
- Ensure a safe and clean working environment by adhering to company policies and procedures.
- Contribute to team efforts by completing tasks and projects as assigned.
- Conserve maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies efficiently.
- Fabricate repair parts using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
- Work effectively under time constraints and in adverse conditions.
- Attend and complete required training sessions.
- Pass all required drug and alcohol testing and background checks.
**Additional Responsibilities:**
- Manage inventory of parts and supplies for the maintenance department.
- Adhere to company work safety policies and procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
**Education and Experience:**
- High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
- 6 months' experience in a related industry or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Experience working on heavy-duty equipment is required.
- Must have own tools and reliable transportation.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
- High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
- 12 months' experience in a related industry or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Experience troubleshooting electrical systems.
- Experience with welding and fabrication.
- Experience with gooseneck and 18-wheeler trailer repairs.
- Experience with generator repair work.
**Work Environment:**
This position operates in a shop environment and may require working in a petrochemical/refinery environment with exposure to cold and hot working conditions.
**Physical Demands:**
The physical demands of this position include bending, stooping, walking, climbing, squatting, reaching, kneeling, pushing/pulling, standing, sitting, hand strength, and dexterity.
**Travel:**
This position requires local travel during the business day, with occasional out-of-area and overnight travel.
