The MRI technologist position at Intermountain Health involves performing MRI examinations under the direction of a physician to assist in the medical diagnosis or treatment of injury.

  • This role includes work in the MRI department as well as Diagnostic Radiology.
  • Access, manage and update patient medical records through Hospital Electronic Medical Record Information System.
  • Accurately access patient medical records.
  • Input physicians orders appropriately to patients records.
  • Review documentation for ongoing patient care- Communicate patient record with ancillary hospital services.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality as outlined by privacy and HIPAA guidelines.
  • Practice core competencies according to the ARRT Standards of Ethics.
  • Educate, interview, screen and explain imaging and safety procedures to patients regarding the biological effects of radiation and/or magnetic field protection and safety prior to beginning any imaging procedure to reduce anxiety and obtain patient cooperation.
  • Position patient on imaging table and utilize immobilization devices as warranted for safety or to obtain optimum views of specified areas of the body as requested by a Physician and following protocols developed by a Radiologist.
  • Administer contrast media orally or in intravenous administration according to Radiologist and/or Pharmacy guidelines.
