Clinical Assistant

Piedmont Medical Care Corporation is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Certified Medical Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare professionals in our outpatient clinic locations.
Key Responsibilities- Patient Care: Meet and greet patients, obtain patient information and medical history, and accurately document patient medical and physical histories in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Administrative Duties: Record vital signs, perform EKG, spirometry, and other office procedures; aid licensed staff during treatment, examination, and testing of patients; and advise physicians and RNs of patient reactions to medication and treatment.
- Lab Duties: Perform phlebotomy, order entry, specimen collection, and establish chain of custody as needed.
- Education and Communication: Distribute educational information and instructions for patient care, diagnostics, and treatments under the supervision of licensed personnel.
- Coordination and Scheduling: Coordinate telephone and in-basket requests to refill prescription medications and report test results in accordance with provider instructions.
- Environmental Services: Prepare and maintain examination/treatment rooms, including inventory of supplies and equipment.
- Quality and Safety: Practice Standard Precautions, including handwashing and disposal of bio-hazardous materials; comply with established risk management, HIPAA, and safety procedures.
- Professional Development: Attend required meetings, in-services, and participate in committees as required.
- Education: High School diploma or GED required. Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program or completion of a Nursing Assistant program is required.
- Experience: None required.
- Licensure/Certification: None required.
- Additional Qualifications: BLS required. Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or a similarly recognized certifying organization is required.
