Key Responsibilities


As a
Culinary Supervisor, you will oversee kitchen staff and execute supervisory duties in alignment with the organization's guidelines and relevant regulations.

Your responsibilities will encompass interviewing, hiring, and training staff; planning, assigning, and directing tasks; evaluating performance; rewarding and addressing disciplinary actions; and resolving complaints and issues.

Your specific tasks in this position will include:


  • Directing, training, and mentoring all kitchen staff.
  • Assigning roles and shifts to team members and monitoring performance to ensure compliance with hotel policies and established procedures.
  • Crafting and developing menus, special offerings, usage records, quality benchmarks, and presentation standards in collaboration with the Executive Chef.
  • Preparing and cooking dishes according to established standards while overseeing food production by team members.
  • Ensuring that opening and closing tasks are completed as per checklists.
  • Guaranteeing adherence to food safety and handling regulations, including monitoring use-by dates and appliance temperatures.
  • Conducting monthly food inventory in partnership with the purchasing department.
  • Monitoring food production, ordering, costs, quality, and consistency to achieve budgeted food cost percentages and departmental profitability.
  • Assisting at various stations in the kitchen as required.
  • Ensuring that same-day or advance preparation for all stations is completed.
  • Coordinating catering event details with the appropriate management and staff.
  • Ensuring compliance with all brand standards and initiatives.
  • Participating in staff meetings to discuss company policies, guest feedback, and to propose enhancements for service and operational efficiency.
  • Facilitating effective departmental communication through logs, daily briefings, and monthly meetings.
  • Performing various administrative tasks, including maintaining accurate supply inventories, managing departmental budgets, processing payroll, and handling accounting and purchasing duties.
  • Keeping up-to-date records and files.
  • Providing information regarding hotel services, such as restaurant, lounge, and room service hours.
  • Ensuring cleanliness in the kitchen, storage areas, and surrounding spaces.

Qualifications

We are seeking a self-driven
Culinary Supervisor with a robust work ethic and a commitment to exceeding expectations.

Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with colleagues are essential.

Specific qualifications for this role include:


  • 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in culinary or a related professional field; a Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or equivalent from a four-year college or university; or a comparable combination of education and experience.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and prioritization abilities.
