At Mayo Clinic, we are seeking a skilled Phlebotomy Specialist to join our team. As a Phlebotomy Specialist, you will be responsible for obtaining high-quality blood samples using various phlebotomy methods for all age groups.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect blood samples using venous, capillary, arterial, and line collections
- Provide rapid response to medical emergencies such as traumas and codes
- Work independently and as part of a team to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction
- Interact with patients, nurses, providers, and other healthcare professionals
- Accurately identify patients, label, handle, and transport specimens
- Answer phones and assist with training of students and new employees
Requirements:
- Valid phlebotomy certification from an approved laboratory certification agency
- Medical Assistant (MA) certification from an approved agency
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
