Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Surgical First Assist Technologist to join our team at SSM Health.

About the Role:

  • This is a rewarding opportunity to assist surgeons in various surgical procedures and contribute to delivering high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist surgeons with precision and skill during surgeries, ensuring effective exposure of the operative site.
  • Suture tissues with expertise, using the appropriate materials and techniques to prevent injury or compromised blood supply.
  • Anticipate individualized care needs based on advanced knowledge of surgical procedures and unexpected patient/surgeon requirements.
  • Prepare equipment, supplies, and resources according to an individualized plan of care, re-evaluating and modifying as needed.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge and skills for performing various surgical procedures, implementing a prioritized, timely, and integrated plan of care.
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, utilizing critical judgment to analyze patient assessment data and develop a suitable plan of care.
  • Maintain competence in delegation, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and team building, evaluating care given by team members and providing feedback.
  • Supervise team members and maintain accountability for standard of care provided, acting as a resource to others when needed.
  • Ensure that physical, psycho-social, spiritual, cultural, and age-appropriate needs of each patient are met.
  • Organize time efficiently, demonstrating appropriate prioritization and maintaining a well-organized work environment.
  • Foster positive interpersonal relationships with patients, significant others, multidisciplinary team members, and co-workers.
  • Work collaboratively on a team and demonstrate a commitment to safe, alert working practices.

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree or Clinical Certification required.
  • Three years' experience preferred.

State: Oklahoma

Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Certified First Assistant - American Board of Surgical Assistants (ABSA)
  • Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) - National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)

Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 per year
